La Ramblas is a long boulevard which joins the Monument a Colom (Columbus monument) by the port to Placa de Catalunya. I was fascinated to visit the The Boqueria market (Mercat de la Boqueria) here, which is one of Europe's great food markets. It is an enthralling experience to enjoy an early breakfast or a refreshing drink in the evening while enjoying beautiful views across the harbour.
After a short visit to La Ramblas move towards the east to find the Gothic Quarter or the Barri Gòtic. These buildings dates back to the 14th and 15th century and was the center of old Barcelona. There is so much to see in this place that just day's visit from hôtels Barcelona might not be enough. You can start with the magnificient Gothic cathedral and then continue visiting the Ajuntament, Plaça del Rei and the Palau de la Generalitat. You will also find the city's history museum in this area as well as a great selection of cafe's and bars.

This strong culinary reputation has lead into the eastablishment of some of the world class restaurats in Barcelona. Restaurants in Barcelona are open throughout the year, providing a relaxing ambience along with great food. One of my best evenings in Barcelona hôtel was spent in Restaurant Els Quatre Gats where I felt like ordering almost everything on the menu. Though my hotel Barcelona had a restaurant too but I want to go out and enjoy the delicious collection of Catalan cuisine, vegetarian treats, Asian delicacies, Basque tapas, snacks and items of meat and fish, sea food, fusion cuisine and whatever the restaurants of Barcelona offers.
